Inselcamp Rügen

Privacy policy

We are glad you are visiting our website. Protecting your personal data matters to us. Below we explain which data we collect, what we use it for and what rights you have.

Last updated: August 2026

This is a translation for your convenience. In case of doubt, the German version of this privacy policy applies.

1. Controller

The controller for the data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Campingbetrieb Banzelvitzer Berge GmbH
OT Groß Banzelvitz
18528 Rappin
Germany

Represented by: Rixa Engel
Telephone: +49 (0) 38 38 / 31 24 8
Email: urlaub@inselcamp-ruegen.de

Further details are given in our legal notice.

2. General information

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable person, for example name, address, email address or IP address.

We only process personal data where the law permits it or where you have given your consent. The following legal bases may apply:

  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR: your consent, for example for statistics cookies and embedded maps.
  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps, for example a booking enquiry.
  • Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR: legal obligations, for example retention periods under tax law.
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website.

3. Hosting

This website runs on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The server is located in Germany; your data does not leave the European Union in the course of hosting.

Hetzner processes the data solely on our behalf and according to our instructions, on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in providing this website reliably and securely.

4. Server log files

Every time this website is accessed, data transmitted by your browser is recorded automatically. This comprises:

  • the address requested and the volume of data transferred
  • the date and time of the request
  • a message indicating whether the request succeeded
  • browser type and version, operating system used
  • the referring page, where your browser transmits it
  • the IP address of the requesting device

We cannot attribute this data to any particular person and we do not combine it with other sources. It serves secure operation, troubleshooting and the defence against attacks.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Logs are deleted after seven days at the latest, unless they are needed longer to investigate a specific incident. They are never combined with the data from our forms.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We distinguish three groups:

  • Necessary: remembering your cookie decision (`ic-consent`, six months) and the accessibility toolbar settings stored in your browser (`ic-a11y`). Neither leaves your device in analysed form, and both are required for the site to work. Legal basis: Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • Statistics: Google Analytics 4, see section 7. Only with your consent.
  • External content: the embedded Google Maps map, see section 8. Only with your consent.

Without your consent we load no content from Google whatsoever. A notice appears on your first visit so that you can decide. You may change or fully withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, with no disadvantage for your use of this website. The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal is unaffected.

You can also delete cookies in your browser settings, or prevent them from being set in the first place.

6. Getting in touch and forms

Contact and feedback form. We process your first and last name, email address, telephone number (optional) and your message in order to answer your enquiry. The details are sent through our own server over an encrypted connection to our mailbox and are not passed on to third parties.

Long-term camping waiting list. In addition, we process your address and the number of family members so that we can add you to the waiting list and notify you when a pitch becomes available.

Job application form. We process your contact details and the application documents you submit in order to carry out the application procedure.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps), Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for general enquiries and, for applications, additionally Section 26(1) BDSG.

We delete enquiries once they have been dealt with and no statutory retention periods apply, after two years at the latest. Application documents are deleted six months after the procedure ends, unless you have agreed to a longer retention period.

To guard against automated submissions, our forms contain an additional field that is invisible to you and check how long the form took to fill in. We also limit the number of submissions per IP address. For that, your IP address is held in the memory of the server for ten minutes; it is not written to disk, not linked to your message, and discarded afterwards. No third-party service is involved. A picture puzzle would be a hurdle for exactly those people with limited eyesight.

7. Google Analytics 4

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics helps us understand which pages are in demand and where visitors get stuck. Among other things, it processes the abbreviated IP address, pages visited, time spent, approximate location (country/region), device type, browser and operating system. Google Analytics 4 generally shortens IP addresses within the EU before they are stored.

The service is only loaded after you have given your explicit consent. As long as you have not agreed, no connection to Google takes place at all.

The legal basis is your consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Google has concluded a data processing agreement with us pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

A transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; by decision of 10 July 2023 the European Commission established an adequate level of protection for certified companies. The European Commission's standard contractual clauses apply in addition. Despite these safeguards, a residual risk remains that US authorities may access data without legal protection comparable to that in the EU.

Google deletes the collected data after 14 months.

You may withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings in the footer; we then delete the cookies set by Google. Further information: Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from websites.

8. Google Maps

On the contact page we embed a map from Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). When the map loads, your browser transmits your IP address to Google; a transfer to the USA is possible.

The map is only loaded once you have agreed. Until then you see a placeholder with a link to the map on Google, which you may follow, but do not have to.

The legal basis is your consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you may withdraw at any time via the cookie settings. Google's terms of use and privacy policy apply.

9. Booking and enquiry form

On the book your holiday page we embed the booking form of our booking system campbuchung.de. The details you enter there are transmitted directly to the provider of that system and processed by them on our behalf so that we can handle your booking enquiry.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps). The provider acts for us as a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Because the form is required for booking and no enquiry can be made without entering your data, we load it together with the page. If you would rather not use it, you can always reach us by telephone or email.

10. Fonts

The typefaces used on this website are stored on our own server and delivered from there. No connection to Google servers or other providers is established, and no data is transmitted to third parties.

11. Links to social networks

In the footer we link to our pages on Facebook and Instagram. These are plain links, not embedded content: a connection to the networks is only established once you click the link. The respective provider is responsible for the processing on those pages.

12. Encryption

This website is delivered exclusively over encrypted HTTPS. You can tell by the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar. Form data is also transmitted to our mailbox in encrypted form.

13. Your rights

You have the following rights in relation to us:

  • Access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)

An informal message to urlaub@inselcamp-ruegen.de is enough for any of these.

Independently of this, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is:

Der Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Werderstraße 74a
19055 Schwerin
Germany

14. Changes to this policy

We update this privacy policy whenever the services we use or the legal situation change. If a change affects services that require consent, we obtain that consent again. The cookie notice will then appear once more.

Choose what we may use. Your decision is kept for six months and can be changed at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

More on this in our privacy policy. You may withdraw at any time, without any disadvantage. Privacy
