The finest nature experiences for your Rügen holiday

Nationalpark Jasmund

📍 Approx. 18 km from Inselcamp Rügen

Nationalpark Jasmund is one of the most breathtaking places on Rügen. The famous chalk cliffs, among them the Königsstuhl, rise majestically above the Baltic and offer spectacular views. The adjoining beech forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is perfect for gentle strolls and longer walks.

Tip: The chalk cliffs are at their most beautiful early in the morning or shortly before sunset.

South-East Rügen Biosphere Reserve

📍 Approx. 25 km from Inselcamp Rügen

The South-East Rügen Biosphere Reserve protects one of the island's most varied landscapes. Here you'll find rolling hills, ancient beech woods, wide bodden waters and idyllic fishing villages. A walk through the Zicker Berge nature reserve is particularly rewarding, with fantastic views as your prize.

Tip: The Mönchgut peninsula within the reserve is a real insider tip for nature lovers.

Schmale Heide and the Feuersteinfelder

📍 Approx. 12 km from Inselcamp Rügen

Between Mukran and Prora lies the Schmale Heide, a narrow spit of land separating the Baltic from the bodden. This is where you'll find the remarkable Feuersteinfelder, an almost mystical stone landscape of millions of flints formed during the Ice Age.

Tip: Walk over the stones barefoot to really feel the special energy of this place.

Insel Vilm

📍 Reachable by boat from Lauterbach (approx. 28 km from Inselcamp Rügen)

Insel Vilm is a strictly protected nature reserve that was closed to visitors for decades. Guided tours are now possible, giving you a rare glimpse of untouched nature and remarkably diverse wildlife.

Tip: Tour numbers are strictly limited, so book well in advance!
