The area around Inselcamp Rügen is a real paradise for nature lovers. The many walking trails around the Great Jasmund Bodden lead you past silent forests, wide meadows, reed-fringed shores and fragrant herbs along the way.
With a little luck you might spot deer, hares or foxes on a walk. Overhead, buzzards, white-tailed eagles and cranes circle in the sky, and down by the water herons, ducks and swans go about their business. Plenty of rare insects, butterflies and songbirds make their home here too.
The countryside around the campsite is not only wonderfully varied, it is also beautifully quiet and unspoilt. Often all you can hear is birdsong and the rustle of leaves in the wind.

The Great Jasmund Bodden right beside Inselcamp Rügen is not just a beautiful stretch of nature, it is a genuine paradise for water fun and sport.
Its calm, shallow water makes the Bodden ideal for swimming, splashing and paddling about. Campers love how pleasantly warm it often is as early as spring, perfect for a long, relaxed swim.
If you fancy something more active, explore the Bodden by stand-up paddleboard or canoe. The sheltered setting keeps the surface calm, so even beginners find their feet quickly.
Fishing, water hiking or simply drifting in the sun are all part of the daily routine here. Sporty or supremely lazy: the Bodden offers something for everyone, right on your doorstep, and makes every holiday day a little bit special.

Routes for every taste
Inselcamp Rügen is a perfect starting point for varied cycling tours through one of the loveliest landscapes in northern Germany. We do not hire out bikes ourselves, but it is well worth bringing your own or using the handy delivery service of a local bike hire company, which will drop the bikes off at the campsite and collect them again later.
Around the Great Jasmund Bodden you will find well-maintained cycle paths suited to gentle outings and sportier tours alike. A short loop with the children, a detour to nearby Gingst or a full day trip to the Baltic coast. There is something here for every level.
Day routes to local sights, through little villages or along the coast with its beautiful views are especially popular. The peaceful surroundings, the fresh air and being so close to nature turn every ride into something memorable.
