Come here to be active, or simply to soak up the peace and quiet.

Highlights

What makes the Great Jasmund Bodden so special?

Stand-up paddleboarding & canoeing

Thanks to its sheltered position, the bodden is perfect for stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and canoeing. The calm water makes for relaxed trips along the shore, past reed beds and little bays.

Tip: Set off straight from the campsite and explore the beautiful shoreline.

Swimming & unwinding

The bodden is a lovely spot for a swim in calm water. The shallow shore is especially good for families with children.

Tip: The water in the bodden is usually warmer than in the open Baltic.

Birdwatching

The bodden is an important resting place for many migratory birds. In spring and autumn in particular you can spot cranes, white-tailed eagles and wild geese. Bring binoculars. It's worth it!

Tip: Early morning and the hours around dusk are the best times for birdwatching.

Fishing

The Great Jasmund Bodden is one of the finest fishing grounds on Rügen. You can land pike, zander, perch and eel here, and with a bit of luck, even a real trophy pike.

Tip: A fishing permit is required and can be bought online or from local shops.
